It is mandatory that you check the list of
Wine Competition category codes
and include the proper code for each wine you intend to enter.

Entering:
A complete entry is comprised of five (5) 750ml bottles, or the equivalent. Grape varieties, residual sugar, appellation, vineyard designation, proprietary names, and retail price must be listed on the entry form with each entry.

Please fill out the entry form completely and accurately. The winery's telephone number, email address and contact person are important. Winners will be notified shortly after the end of the Competition by email, telephone or regular U.S. mail. The address you provide should be the address for shipment of medals following the Competition.

Be careful to enter each wine in the proper category. If a category does not exist for your wine, leave the category blank and the Director or Chief Judge will assign the wine to the correct category or create a new category if necessary.

Wines entered in the wrong category will be moved to the correct category by the Director or Chief Judge.

Please list each wine by its name AS IT APPEARS ON THE LABEL so the results will be recorded properly, allowing consumers to readily identify your medal-winning wine. Also enclose either labels or technical sheets with your mailed entry form or check.

International entries being shipped from outside the United States should include the name, address and phone number of the importer of record. If the competition supplies its own importer to clear wines through customs, additional brokerage fees will be charged.

Awards:
Best of Show Red, Best of Show White, Best of Show Sparkling, Best of Show Rose, Best of Show Dessert, Sweepstakes (wines that have been nominated for Best of Show), Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded to wines that merit these designations, as the judges see fit. Results will be posted as quickly as practical following the competition at SDIWC.com and WhitleyOnWine.com.

NEW THIS YEAR: Gold and Silver medal winners will be published on the Reviews page of WineReviewOnline.com, www.winereviewonline.com, and available instantly to mobile phone and PDA users through the Review2Buy.com mobile review service.

Entry fees:
The Competition entry fee is $65 per wine entered. Make checks payable to San Diego International Wine Competition.

Judges & judging:
The judges of the San Diego International Wine Competition include winemakers, vintners, wine journalists, educators, wine trade professionals, and wine connoisseurs with a proven proficiency.
