It is mandatory that you check the list of
Wine Competition category codes
and include the proper code for each wine you intend to enter.

Competition Rules:

1. In entering the Competition, a winery agrees to donate one case of each Gold and Silver medal-winning wine for the Wine & Roses Charity Wine Sale, which will be held June 14, 2009, during the gala Wine & Roses Charity Wine Tasting on the Westgate Hotel Terrace. Proceeds of the wine sale benefit the charities of the Social Service Auxiliary of San Diego.

2. The donated wine should be received no later than May 15, 2009. If the medal-winning wine is no longer available, it may be substituted with a similar wine, such as the same wine from the next vintage.

3. To qualify for entry in the San Diego International Wine Competition, a wine must have been produced for commercial sale.

4. The San Diego International Wine Competition will accept entries from wines made anywhere in the world.

5. Each wine's category will be determined by information on the front label.

6. All medals will be awarded by the judges. The decision of the judges is final.

7. The Chief Judge and Director reserve the right to create new categories if the number of entries warrants.

8. The same wine may be entered in more than one category if one of the categories is for organic/biodynamic or kosher wine.

10. Entries with payment must be received by February 27,, 2009. Wines must be received no later than March 6, 2009.
